Are We Missing Something??

ONE MORE STORY and then I'll be caught up! We were in Provo for about four days altogether and didn't really have anywhere to keep our pup (who still remains nameless btw!) so Mike talked to his uncle who is trying to sell his house in Lehi and he said that even though they weren't living there, they had a big yard with a really big, high fence and we could keep her there.

We didn't worry too much about her getting out 'cause she's pretty shy and we practically have to force her to leave the yard and the fence around the yard was so high that even Mike had to stand on a fire hydrant to see over it. So we left her there and were just going to visit her every day and taking her food and water and she was doing great there w/ lots of room to run around.

However, when we went to pick her up to come home, we couldn't find her ANYWHERE. We ran around the block a few times calling for her and she wasn't anywhere. We were about to start knocking on neighbors doors when I noticed this little tiny sticky note on the fence that said "Your puppy is next door" and it had a little arrow pointing to the house across the street.

So we went over there and this like 10 yr. old kid answered the door and we told him we were there to get our puppy and he just sat there and looked at us and then went and sat down on the couch where she was sleeping. Then after like forever, his dad showed up and we said we were there to get our puppy and he said 'Oh, well she's asleep' and then he just sat there too! Finally his wife came home and we asked them if she was barking or anything and if that's why they went and got her and they said no that she just looked hungry so they took her and fed her and gave her a bath and NAMED HER??? They were really stand offish like they were waiting for us to say 'It's okay, you guys can have her' and kept telling us how starving and thirsty she was like we hadn't been there in weeks.

I was SO mad! We had been there the day before and she had plenty of water and food..even if she didn't they would have had to actually go into the gate (because you can't see through it or over it) and get her and take her to their house. I guess it was nice of them to leave a note and maybe they were really trying to help out but...who does that?? They could have thrown some food over to her if they were really THAT worried about it...

So we were both irritated but whatever...we got her back. Then, we get back home to Cedar City and Mike went to go finish putting together a chain link fence/kennel he was in the middle of putting together for her when we left and it's already set up...in the neighbor's yard! What is w/ people here taking things out of other people's yards?? Is it like this unspoken law of consecration thing??

So that's FINALLY the end of our long story!! We're waiting to go get the fence back until we can get a hold of Nate and see if maybe he gave it to the neighbors when they lived here and they just decided not to take it until now...I hope everyone here's not like this!!!

I went to find Mike just now and this is where I found him...does this look like an unloved puppy to you???

Crazy story, I had no idea. We'll have to ask Doug if he knew the neighbors??? I think he once mentioned they were a little strange!! Maybe thats why they moved back to California! :)

Ok, it is a Utah thing (I swear). We had our neighbors just take our trash can for like a week because theirs must have been full or something. Not like we create that much trash, but they just take things...so weird! A trash can and a puppy are very different but the moral of the story is the same. Glad the pup is back.
