The Past Few Months

We haven't made a post in a while now, so we're doing some catching up.

Grant had his first egg hunt this year.  He didn't do too bad considering he was the youngest hunter.  Here he is on the move.

Uncle Chase, Grant and Grant's cousin Zack.  Zack's such a ham.  He's always making crazy faces in pictures!

At the beginning of this year, I entered a weight-loss contest at work.  I've never been able to really stick to it before so I was pretty proud when I was coming in at the top almost every week.  With one week left in the competition and 3 lbs. left to go to get to my goal weight, I found out I was pregnant.  So that was the end of that.  I'm hoping I've built up enough of a buffer that I don't get as big as I did with Grant!  My after pic. here is my first pregnancy pic.  I'm about 9 wks in it.

For comparison.  Can you find me?  This is what we're trying to avoid this time around!  (Sadly, VERY sadly, I still have a month to go in this picture!)

Anyway, Grant broke the news to our families.  He's SUPER excited.  Not really.  He has no idea anything is any different.  When I ask him "Where's the baby?", he points to himself and says "Ba bee"...I hope he copes well once it gets here!

14 wks.  SO glad to be done with the first trimester!!  As of today, I am 16 wks.  Moving right along!

Not long after the pregnancy surprise/excitement, we all got REALLY sick.  It hit Grant and I first and we pretty much just laid around being miserable for a few weeks.  Here's Grant waiting in the car for Mike to pick up some of his medicine.  Poor little man!

Luckily Mike was pretty well through the first two weeks so he took good care of us.  Here's an iPod pic. I took of him doin' the dishes.  Actually, this pretty well sums up the whole first trimester.  Although I know I'm "not as cool this time around as I was with Grant" (Mike's words...how does one not take offense to that?),  Mike's handled it MUCH better than I could ask for!

Grant's getting more and more interactive every day.  He LOVES playing with his blocks!  I'm think we could get rid of every other toy in the house and he wouldn't notice as long as his blocks were still around.  He's starting to say more words and recognizes people.  My favorite is when he tries to say "Guillermo" (the Wiltbank's exchange student from Spain).  He says "Me mo mo".

I thought since it's been getting a little warmer and Grant's hair usually looks like a mop, summer might be the perfect time to try a shorter style.  But I always tend to go too short!  Good thing it grows back fast! Here's the before:

And the after:

I wish this pic. was to say that Grant's sleeping habits have taken a turn for the better but it's not so...I just think he looks cute!  Always has to have that leg crossed!

Happy Birthday to everyone we missed!  Summer is a killer for birthdays between Mike's family and mine and we can never quite keep up.  I did the WORST with Mike's this year!  Hopefully next year I can redeem myself.  At least he got to hang out with this little guy!  That's a pretty good gift!

One (or I should say two) of the birthday's we missed were Grant's twin cousins Trex and Dax.  From what we heard and saw of the aftermath, Jen threw them a pretty awesome superhero party.  They were nice enough to share some of their gear with Grant, which he used to create his own version of a superhero.  I love this pic, even though the quality's not the best!

Mike and Grant embarked on their first Father and Son's Outing this month.  I missed them so much even though I was working the night they were gone.  I'm sure they had fun!  I've never seen two better buddies!  Here they are about to head out.

This was a pic Mike took on his iPod and sent me while I was at work the other night.  I'd just been yelled at by a doc so it couldn't've come at a better time!   I kept staring at it all night and it just made the night go by so much easier (and harder at the same time 'cause how can you not miss that little face?!).  Life is good! :)
