Better to Prepare & Prevent than Repair & Repent

Today I threw away my Crocs (or whatever brand they were, they weren't really Crocs).

I've been suffering from chronic foot pain since trying to learn to skateboard almost a year ago (while wearing the Crocs). Once the pain started up my ankle, knee and hip, I decided I should go to the Podiatrist.

Apparently I've made a tiny bone in my foot called a sesamoid pretty angry. I have to go in again for an MRI to hopefully rule out a break.
He pretty much said that Crocs (or Croc type shoes) are horrible for your feet. Then he folded my shoe up into a little ball to demonstrate...I guess shoes that are good for your feet aren't supposed to do that.

From now on, I'm going to pay for good, quality shoes...maybe even research a bit before I buy. Regardless of how much they cost, I'm sure they'll be cheaper than a couple of Dr.'s visits, an X-ray, an MRI, prescriptions and whatever else is in the future for my sad little foot bone.

The Fun Has Arrived!

Matthew Chase Goodman is here!! He was born at 3:45 Sat. morning and he is SUCH a sweetie!! He weighed 6 lbs. 13 oz. and is 19 1/2 in. long.
My mama and Chase! He's a lucky guy to get her for a mom!
One of the only pics. with his eyes open so far...
I got to spend some one on one with him this morning so I taught him to hawk his hair.
My dad called me at 3:30 Sat. morning to tell me her water had broke. At 3:45 he texted me and said he was here. I couldn't go back to sleep so I decided to just come. Mike woke up and helped me pack and get out the door 'cause he's a good guy like that! Anyway, through all the hustle and bustle, I still didn't get to Show Low 'til about 7 a.m. but it was worth it!
P.S. sorry for the awful pictures! All I'm posting from is my phone. I'm sure there will be better ones to come! :)

it's just too bright

Today is our four year anniversary! I've never been happier to be right where I am in life than I am right now! Marriage is great!! Especially when you get to go through life and look forward to eternity with a person like Mike!
Last night we celebrated at Applebee's and DQ and spent the weekend enjoying each others' company and relaxing.
Any of you who read this post or know us very well know we haven't always had blissful times in our relationship. I just want to say that the benefits of working hard together to make things work are unimagineably good! And I am SO happy I'm not missing out on this! I honestly couldn't have ever imagined we would be as happy as we are now! The trials almost seemed impossibly hard but they have shaped and helped make our relationship what it is now and it feels unbreakable.
Thanks for sticking with me Mike! I can't even tell you how much it means to me! You're the best!

"Now I see clearly it's you I'm looking for...I smile, I know I'll feel this loneliness no more all of my days. For I look around me and it seems you've found me and it's coming into sight as the days keep turning into night..."
