Another Month!

I can't believe it's already been another month!!  Grant was two months old last Friday.  We've been keeping him really busy!

On his two month birthday, he had a doctor's appointment and had to get shots.  It was so sad!  He did great even though he got a fever and wasn't feeling well for the next few days...it's really just heartbreaking!

Grant was really loving these stuffed zebras.

A few facts about Grant:

*He weighs 13 lbs. 6 oz., is 24 in. long and is in the 90% percentile for height, weight and head circumference.  We had no idea he'd gotten so big!  He's almost doubled his birth weight already!

*He's been smiling!!-someday we'll get it on camera.

*He's cooing and 'talking' to us.  It's so much fun!  He can totally make your day with his happy little face! (SEE VIDEO BELOW)

*He's been SUCH a good baby!  He's been sleeping well, eating well and all around has a really good disposition.  He hardly ever makes a fuss (which makes giving him shots that much more heart-breaking).

Thursday, Grant had his first paying gig.  My brother's medical school was learning how to do infant assessments and they needed babies to come so the students could interact and hear a babies' heartbeat and breath sounds, etc.  Grant lived up to his name and did great!  They all loved him and he sat still and was good for everyone to get a turn listening and interacting with him.

 Last week we took another trip to Round Valley and it was so much fun to see everyone!  Having Grant is nice because everyone really loves having us around now. :)

February was also Grant's Best Buddy Molli's birthday. You wouldn't think a baby and an adult could be best friends but they really are.  They both always get so excited to see each other and have already seen each other through some rough times.  Grant's first big smile was while hanging out with Molli.

We're so lucky Mike's gotten so much time off so we can spend these first couple months together as a family.  It has been awesome!  Life with our little Grant in it is ten times better than we could've ever hoped for!  Here are a few more random pictures of what we do with these days we've been getting to spend with him:

A Month of Adventures

Grant was one month old on Friday!

Grant has been doing great! He's a really good baby and tolerating us well while we try to learn the ropes of being new parents! We're loving being his parents! We've been being teased about being the overprotective first timers. I think the first thing out of my mouth every time I talk to my mom on the phone is "I'm kinda worried 'cause Grant [fill in the blank]". We've been told that from her on out, the worrying never stops...great!

My mom gave us this little play gym and he LOVES it! He lays under it as long as we'll let him.

This is the best picture I could get of what Mike's brother Ryan calls his mullet. His hair is so long and straight. It hangs down over his collar and ears and sticks straight up in the back. I want to cut it but of course I'm scared :)

Grant hasn't missed a Suns game his whole life! He is a die hard fan!

He even has the same name as one of their star players and thanks to his Aunt Celina, a jersey to match!

Last week, we took Grant on his first big trip to see our families in Eagar. We were beyond nervous and worried the whole time since we still haven't really taken him out of the house. He pretty much slept the whole trip and adjusted really well to not being at home.

He's still making funny faces--Giving me the stink eye right before we left.

Grant was well taken care of and welcomed by his Grandmas!! However, the only thing I really got any pictures of were his uncles! Grant had so much fun with his uncles! He has a lot of good guys to hang around and look up to!

Uncle Chase didn't quite know what to think. He spent quite a bit of time circling Grant and trying to figure him out. I was nervous (of course) but by the end of the trip, it seemed like he just wanted to be around him and he was really gentle. I think they're gonna be best buds someday!

They're almost a year apart to the day...I can't believe the difference a year makes!!

The Best Thing Ever!

Grant is already three weeks old! Time has been flying! We've been loving spending time with this little guy! We spend so much time just staring at him...but it doesn't seem like a bad use of time.

First time wearing shoes-he hates 'em but he's so wiggly it's the only thing that keeps his socks on.

He always has his hands in cute positions when he sleeps.

On Sunday, we went to Mike's cousins house to take some pics of Grant (she's a photographer too) and they even made us dinner. She and Mike did a great job!! We'll probably hit her up for more pics once I lose some weight and Mike and I can learn to be as cute and photogenic as Grant.

I think Grant had a hard time deciding where to focus his vision with so many cameras/people so close to his face...he kept going cross-eyed and making funny faces. Here are a few examples:

Grant is Here!

Our little guy Grant is finally here. I went in to be induced at 7:00 am on Tuesday morning (1/11/11) and he finally got here at 11:28 that night.
My mom had been here helping us all week and joined us at the hospital not long after. Velda and Ryan were waiting outside the door to run in and be Grant's first visitors.

The Next day Grant got visitors all day long. It's very apparent that this kid is loved.

It was good to see everybody but all the commotion left Grant and I exhausted.

Once we got home the party didn't stop. Grant had a birthday celebration with cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends.
Sorry for the delay in posting everything, we've just been spending every second enjoying our new addition.

Grant is the best thing that has ever happened to us.

Wow we made it to 5 years, quite the roller coaster ride.
Grant will be here soon to join our family for the next 50 or so years.
